Playlist of the Week: Wide Awake to Own Today

Moved Lyrically

Indeed music can somehow depict someone’s current state of mind and circumstance.  In a sentimental mood, it could even bring out one’s emotions in a different level.

At first hearing, it seems delightful because of the melodious sounds that transmit through airwaves. The lyrics, the beat, and the musical instruments being played just keep a person connected especially when it becomes relatable to the listener.  And then that sense of wonder one feels how that song could simply touch one’s heart.  It comes to mind that the makers are great genius for creating a song so close and personally moving.

When one cannot fully express one’s innermost deepest feelings, a particular song been humming for sometime would steadily bring out a link in a significant way.  As if that was specially tailor fitted to the listener or is it just a coincidental tune of interest.  Even a song in a different tongue can be pleasing to the ears when sang beautifully and harmoniously.  Certainly no language barriers can stop anyone from appreciating someone’s song.  Affective as it may seem and at times more like the heart lyrically cries out for pleas.

Most of the time it helps to just soak one’s self in a song.  Letting out in a musical way somehow releases a feeling of freeing one’s self from being drowned in a sea of conflicted state.  It is also in those moments that that one likens being true personably.

Music as it abounds in different genres and musical styles over time is amazingly ingenious. In the years to come it is imminent that another set of songs would come out for everyone to hear and hook up to.

Fearless…Brighter than the Moon

Before I came up with my post today, I searched synonyms of the word brave. I guess you also tried after reading it. Kidding aside I never thought I could write a post this often. When am unable to immediately generate ideas, I would do other things instead like surfing the net or read a book. When my mind is ready, creative ideas come out unexpectedly. I love that.

Anyway, I too have been a witness to one’s bravery. I may have been at awe with Joan of Arc’s courage. Who would think she can lead an army of men when women in her time do not engage themselves in such thing.

I also admire women who have become successful entrepreneurs just like Socorro Ramos, founder of PhilippinesNational Bookstore. Learning how she managed to build her business even in World War years is truly amazing.

If there is someone who truly made me look up to because of his/her braveness is this famous personality. Almost everyone never thought s/he could still regain her popularity status. S/he was a shining star before. But nobody did expect that his/her star would shine again and even brighter than the moon. (Firework song works this time.) That person is none other than… (drum roll please) is Sandara “Dara” Park of 2NE1.

What made me admire her in the first place? When she found out that she is no longer as popular in the Philippines, she went back to Korea to still pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a singing superstar. Her determination and passion to succeed has helped her become the person she is now. I also liked that despite her age (though she does not really look like one), that did not prevent her from improving her singing and dancing skills and to become almost at par with her peers.

How I Keep Myself Fired Up

Guess what? I am featuring another video. Thanks to youtube. =)

It has become my habit in the morning to listen to Katy Perry’s Firework. I would even find myself singing with so much gusto. When I really like a song, I would always sing and even memorize the song’s lyrics.

Anyway, I only learned about Katy Perry’s Firework when I watched MYX‘s Countdown last December 31, 2010. I love the song’s message so go and watch this beautiful music video.
